Riverside Avondale Preservation welcomes you to the neighborhood, one of Florida''s largest historic districts. We are honored to be stewards of this special and unique treasure, Riverside Avondale, which includes diverse historic architecture, cultural centers like the Cummer Museum and Riverside Arts Market, lush and well-loved parks, tree-lined streets, and stunning river views. Riverside Avondale Preservation (RAP) is an official partner of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and is the district''s dedicated grassroots preservation organization. Since its founding in 1974, RAP has been an advocate for active preservation of our neighborhood''s historic assets. Historic preservation is much more than saving old buildings. Modern preservation efforts are about saving the heart of communities, ensuring vibrant, special places full of character. As part of ensuring our neighborhood''s economic vitality and quality of life, RAP has led recent efforts to bring a public dog park and community garden to the neighborhood. And, RAP is proud to bring you the Riverside Arts Market under the Fuller Warren Bridge. From 10am to 3pm each Saturday, more than 100 producers and artisans showcase the city''s creative side, from handmade pottery, paintings and jewelry, to silk-screened shirts and unique accessories. RAM''s expansive Farmers'' Market features locally-grown, seasonal produce and farm products. Food artists feature artisan breads, gourmet spreads, fresh cheeses and other tasty treats. The market''s three stages present exceptional live entertainment, from singers and songwriters to dance performances. With ample free parking, a beautiful riverfront setting and a family-friendly, community-centric vibe, RAM is your bridge to a better weekend.
