WJXT Will Award a Local Veteran with a New Car

Hyundai Hometown Heroes Contest, Military Veteran Category opens.

Jacksonville, FL: — News4JAX.com is proud to announce the return of the Hyundai Hometown Heroes contest.  This round is dedicated to honoring outstanding local military veterans in the Jacksonville community.  This initiative seeks to spotlight veterans whose courage, sacrifice and contributions continue to make a lasting impact on their community and beyond.

The Hyundai Hometown Heroes contest invites nominations from family members, friends, colleagues and community members who wish to recognize a local military veteran who has gone above and beyond in their service and post-service efforts.  Nominations can be submitted online through the News4JAX.com website starting October 14th, with the submission period running until October 28th, followed by a voting period from October 29th to November 5th.

"We are honored to partner with Hyundai to recognize the incredible contributions of our local veterans," said Terri Cope Walton, WJXT Vice President & General Manager.  "It is vital that we celebrate the service and continued commitment of those who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms.  We encourage the entire community to participate in this contest by nominating and voting for these hometown heroes.”

Nominees will be evaluated based on criteria such as their military service, leadership, community involvement and overall contribution to society.  News4JAX Insiders will vote to select a group of 4 finalists, and a panel of judges will then review the submissions and choose a winner from those finalists to receive a new Hyundai Tucson.

The winner of the Hyundai Hometown Heroes contest will not only receive a new car but will also be featured on News4JAX.com in a dedicated feature story and video, showcasing their remarkable achievements and the positive influence they have had in Jacksonville.
