Fourth Annual 7 Creeks Fest Set for Saturday, March 8

Sponsorship opportunities are available for the event that celebrates the

7 Creeks Recreation Area

Jacksonville, Fla., Feb. 3, 2024 – The date has been set for Saturday, March 8, for the fourth annual 7 Creeks Fest, a celebration of Jacksonville’s expansive 7 Creeks Recreation Area. The free, family-friendly event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes activities in multiple parks that comprise the 7 Creeks Recreation Area, spanning more than 30 miles of trails and waterways. Timucuan Parks Foundation, the City of Jacksonville, Florida State Parks, North Florida Land Trust, and Visit Jacksonville partner each year to host activities throughout the parks to showcase the 7 Creeks Recreation Area to the community and lead an exploration of the natural spaces.

All activities are free and open to the public. Visitors can check in at the Fest Welcome Hub at Betz-Tiger Point Preserve at 13990 Pumpkin Hill Rd. and then choose an adventure. There will be guided hikes, birding hikes, native plant hikes, archaeological hikes, a Hike into History at Cedar Point, kayaking in Pumpkin Hill Creek, canoeing at Cedar Point boat ramp, a camping clinic, and dip netting. Explore Bogey Creek Preserve and take a selfie at its selfie stations. There will also be a youth fishing clinic for ages 6 to 17 (registration will be required), environmental exhibitors, live music, food trucks and more.

Sponsorship opportunities are available and range from the $10,000 7 Creeks Presenting Sponsor level to the $1,000 Sandhill level. Those interested should contact fest@timucuanparks.org or call (904) 374-1107. Support of the event contributes to preserving healthy natural environments, deepening the community’s connection to public lands, and making it possible for the Fest’s educational and transformative engagement activities to be available for all for free. All the details can be found at 7creeksfest.org.

The 7 Creeks Recreation Area is 5,600 acres of contiguous parklands in northeast Jacksonville. It includes Betz-Tiger Point Preserve, Cedar Point Preserve, Cedar Point, Jim Wingate Preserve, Bogey Creek Preserve, Pescatello Island and Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park. The 7 Creeks Recreation was made possible by the partnership of park agencies and supportive nonprofits working together to expand access and recreational opportunities for park visitors.
