Office Images unveils new butterfly sculpture in Landon Park

Artwork honors E. Zimmermann Boulos for his contributions to the community

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 20, 2025) – Office Images, a nationally respected, full-service workplace furniture and architectural products dealership, recently celebrated the installation of an iconic piece of public art in Landon Park. The furniture dealership commissioned the original butterfly sculpture and presented the artwork as a gift recognizing E. Zimmermann Boulos for his contributions to the community

“We are proud to present this magnificent piece of art honoring Zim and continue his outstanding legacy of providing support and inspiration to the San Marco community,” said Bryan Roberts, CEO of Office Images. “Arts and culture are a significant contributor to Jacksonville’s vibrancy and economic well-being, and we hope this sculpture is an innovative way of bringing people together, building community and creating meaningful experiences through the use of art.”

Boulos served as President of the Jacksonville office, which was founded in 1955 by Boulos’ father, Edward J. Boulos, and as a trusted furniture provider for more than four decades until his retirement in January 2024. He has generously contributed to the Jacksonville community with tree planting projects, the renovation of San Marco Square and gifts of outdoor sculptures.

The sculpture, named Transform, was commissioned by Office Images for creation by Omaha-based, internationally recognized contemporary artist Matthew Placzek. His art forms are both meticulous and free-flowing in design, and his works can be found in galleries, corporations, healthcare facilities, zoos and private collections around the world.

The Transform sculpture stands 12 feet high and is made from aluminum and acrylic. During the day, the sunlight illuminates the acrylic and creates a colorful spectacle. Placzek’s hope for the piece is to bring interest to the area, and compliment the surrounding environment while highlighting how important pollinators are to the environment.

“I am so appreciative of Bryan and Office Images’ generosity and understanding of the value of public art as well as the desire to showcase the importance of our local fauna and its relationship with our environment,” said E. Zimmermann Boulos. “Butterflies represent the process of rebirth, personal growth and the ability to change. Their life cycle is a natural example of transformation. Butterflies can also symbolize hope, recovery and new beginnings. I hope this sculpture provides a welcoming place for children of all ages to learn and grown while honoring the beauty of our environment.”
