New Ownership at Castaways Vintage to Modern Antiques: Continuing a Family Tradition of Timeless Treasures

Jacksonville, FL | February 20, 2025 – Castaways Vintage to Modern Antiques, a cherished establishment in the heart of Avondale/Fairfax neighborhood, is excited to announce a change in ownership. The shop, known for its eclectic mix of vintage, modern, and antique treasures, will continue to serve the community under the new stewardship of local entrepreneur and Avondale resident Jason Roth. For close to a decade, Castaways has been a beloved destination for collectors, decorators, and nostalgia seekers. Founded by Margo Torres, and then run by her daughter Windy Thompson, the shop has built a reputation for offering unique finds and exceptional customer service. Their dedication to curating an ever-evolving collection of items from different eras made the store a cornerstone of the local shopping experience. With Windy choosing to retire and enjoy her new chapter of travel and leisure, she has passed the torch to Jason Roth, who shares a passion for antiques and commitment to community. Roth brings years of experience in the Jacksonville business community and plans to honor the store's legacy while infusing fresh energy and ideas. His sons, Anderson, Owen and Coleson, are also eager to learn the business and help out however they can. "I’m thrilled to lead Castaways into its next chapter," said Roth. "Windy and her mother have established a wonderful legacy. We plan to not only preserve their vision but expand upon it, introducing new collections and services that will make the shop a destination for the community’s love for unique and quality antiques." Customers can continue to explore the rich variety of items ranging from mid-century modern furniture and vintage collectibles to rare antiques from around the world. Roth promises exciting new inventory rotations, including locally-sourced items that showcase Jacksonville's artistic and historical flair, as well as modern-day makers. A Grand Reopening celebration is planned for March 15th, inviting customers old and new to experience the revitalized ambiance of Castaways. Guests will enjoy special promotions, live music, and refreshments. Castaways Vintage to Modern Antiques is located at 4201 St. Johns Ave. Store hours remain unchanged, welcoming customers Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00AM - 5:00PM.
