Hearts 4 Minds Hosts Three Community Events for #ChalkItUp4Life Campaign

Jacksonville, FL – May 9, 2025 – Hearts 4 Minds, a leading mental health advocacy organization, announces the return of its successful #ChalkItUp4Life campaign with three major community events planned throughout May, Mental Health Awareness Month.

Following last year's successful launch, Hearts 4 Minds is expanding its #ChalkItUp4Life campaign with three major community chalk events across Jacksonville this May:

  • Saturday, May 10 at 8:00 AM - Main Street Bridge (Meeting at the fountain)

  • Friday, May 16 at 4:00 PM - Riverside Arts Market (Meeting at the entrance)

  • Sunday, May 18 at 8:00 AM - Seawalk Pavilion (Meeting at the stage)

All chalk supplies will be provided at these free community events. No artistic experience is necessary—just a willingness to help create messages of hope and support.

A Creative Approach to Mental Health Awareness:

The #ChalkItUp4Life campaign encourages individuals of all ages to participate in a fun and accessible way. We're turning sidewalks into canvases and conversations into communities. Why Chalk? Because mental health matters for everyone, of all ages! It's a fun and accessible way to spread awareness, spark open conversations, and break down stigma. Participants are encouraged to use chalk to write positive messages about mental health on sidewalks, public spaces, and community boards.

Campaign Goals:

  • Reduce stigma: By normalizing conversations about mental health, the campaign aims to create a more supportive environment for everyone.

  • Increase awareness: The campaign will distribute free green chalk and leverage social media to share mental health resources and information.

  • Encourage help-seeking behavior: Hearts 4 Minds wants to connect people with the support they need by highlighting their services and resources.

"We're excited to build on last year's momentum with these three community events," said Sheryl Johnson, Founder of Hearts 4 Minds. "By bringing people together at iconic Jacksonville locations, we're making mental health conversations visible and accessible. The beauty of using chalk is that it's a simple activity that anyone can participate in, creating colorful reminders that mental health support is available and that no one has to walk their path alone."

Those who can't attend one of the organized events are encouraged to create their own chalk messages anywhere and share on social media with #ChalkItUp4Life.
