HCA FLORIDA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL RECEIVES
COMPREHENSIVE STROKE CENTER
CERTIFICATION FROM DNV
JACKSONVILLE, FL (6 June 2025) — HCA Florida Memorial Hospital announces that it has received certification from DNV as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, reflecting the highest level of competence for treatment of serious stroke events.
“With stroke care, you must have the best clinicians and resources, but also the ability to act organizationally with extreme efficiency because of the time-critical nature of these events,” says Sirisha Talari, MD, Chief Medical Officer of HCA Florida Memorial Hospital. “This certification from DNV validates all the effort we have put into this program and to ensuring the health and safety of our patients.”
The DNV Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification is based on standards set forth by the Brain Attack Coalition and the American Stroke Association, and affirms that the medical center addresses the full spectrum of stroke care – diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and education – and establishes clear metrics to evaluate outcomes.
"We are proud to have earned Comprehensive Stroke Center certification—the highest level of stroke care designation available," said Ravi Pande, MD, Neurointerventionalist and Medical Director of HCA Florida Memorial Hospital’s Stroke and Cerebrovascular Program. "This recognition reflects the unwavering dedication, expertise, and collaboration of our entire stroke team. It reinforces our commitment to delivering the most advanced, timely, and comprehensive care to our patients and the community we serve."
“Achieving certification shows commitment to excellence,” says Kelly Proctor, President of DNV Healthcare USA Inc. “And it helps demonstrate to your community that you are performing at the highest level.”
Comprehensive stroke centers are typically and largest and best-equipped hospitals and a given geographical area that can treat any kind of stroke or stroke complication. In a growing number of states, stroke center certification determines to which facility a patient should be taken for the most appropriate, reimbursable care.
