RadiFi Credit Union Launches Back‑to‑School Supply Drive

RadiFi Credit Union Launches Back-to-School Supply Drive

Drive kicks off on July 25 in honor of I Love My Credit Union Day and during the extended sales tax holiday, ending on August 9

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – July 23,  2025 – RadiFi Credit Union, celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2025, is proud to launch a Back-to-School Supply Drive, kicking off in honor of National I Love My Credit Union Day on July 25 and during Florida’s extended sales tax holiday. The drive will end on August 9. Reflecting its enduring mission to help people live more vibrantly, RadiFi is collecting school essentials for local families at schools near their branch locations ahead of the new school year.

With school supply costs breaking the bank, many Florida parents are struggling – according to a recent study by Savings.com, 72% of parents are cutting expenses or picking up extra shifts to cover school supply costs (up from 56% last year) with average spending around $620 per student. 70% expect inflation and tariffs will drive prices higher. This initiative coincides with Florida’s expanded Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday, running August 1 through August 31, allowing families to purchase qualifying items tax-free – including school supplies up to $50, backpacks up to $100, and computers and accessories up to $1,500.

“As we celebrate 90 years of serving our community, supporting local students and families remains a core part of who we are,” said Tara McQuillen, Chief Marketing Officer of RadiFi Credit Union. “Our Back-to-School Supply Drive is one small way we can help ease the burden for families and ensure students have what they need to start the year off right.”

Suggested new school supplies for donation include backpacks, notebooks, pens, binders, crayons, scissors, calculators, glue and more. Donations can be brought to any Jacksonville-area RadiFi branch from July 17 to August 9.
