acksonville International Airport Passenger Traffic Reaches All-Time High for Month of July

[Jacksonville, FL – August 22, 2025] – Over 709,000 passengers flew through Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) in July, making it the busiest July ever in the facility’s history.

The boost in activity represents a 3.1 percent increase over July 2024, which was the airport’s previous high-water mark for July passenger traffic.

“In the first half of 2025, 2 new airlines and 12 new nonstop destinations have landed at JAX,” Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) CEO Mark VanLoh said. “This is proof that Northeast Florida is a growing region and an attractive destination for airlines.”

Avelo Airlines flies nonstop to New Haven, Connecticut and Wilmington, Delaware. Air Canada offers seasonal daily flights to Toronto. Additionally, Allegiant Airlines added nonstop service to Akron/Canton, Des Moines and Grand Rapids. Breeze Airways added nonstop service to New Haven, Connecticut and will begin non-stop service to Akron-Canton in September.  Southwest Airlines added Kansas City on Saturdays and will add non-stop service to Austin in October.

Because of the sustained growth in passengers, the Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) undertook several major infrastructure projects, several of which will be completed in the coming years. A third concourse, Concourse B, will add six new gates, additional concessions and passenger amenities. A third car parking garage will add approximately 2,000 new parking spaces for travelers. Both projects are estimated for completion in the fourth quarter of 2026.
