CITI CONTINUES 29-YEAR PARTNERSHIP WITH FLORIDA THEATRE AND THEATREWORKS
JACKSONVILLE, FL (September 10, 2025) – Citi, a Corporate Partner of the Florida Theatre since 1996, has announced its renewed support of the historic Theatre and Theatreworks.
Citi has supported free summer theatre in the Theatreworks program at the Florida Theatre for 29 years. “It’s so important to us,” said Heidi Matheny, Jacksonville Site Communications Lead at Citi. “We feel that it’s really important for students to have access to free live theatre, and so supporting the program in the summertime, as well as a couple of shows throughout the year, is just really awesome for us, and our employees just love that we’re so involved.”
Theatreworks provides the best national touring children’s theatre to school-age children on the First Coast. Founded in 1979, Theatreworks was an independent organization until it merged with the Florida Theatre in 2019. Each show has themes that fit with the curriculum of Duval County. Enforcing the curriculum, the shows have study guides to provide an enriching learning experience and discussion points.
