JACKSONVILLE, Fl., October 21st, 2025 – Youth Crisis Center is proud to announce the ribbon cutting ceremony for The MILLS: Maternity Independent Living and Life Skills Program, a new residential community designed to support pregnant young women and mothers ages 18–24 with children under the age of two. The ribbon cutting will take place on Tuesday, October 21st, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. on the Youth Crisis Center campus located at 3015 Parental Home Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32216. The MILLS features 9 fully furnished tiny homes on the Youth Crisis Center campus, offering young mothers and their children a safe and supportive environment as they build toward stability and independence. This innovative program provides residential living, life skills training, academic and career development, parenting classes, and mental health support, all tailored to empower young families to rise above adversity. Established in 1974 as Florida’s first runaway program, Youth Crisis Center has grown into one of the largest and best-known providers of services for youth and families in Northeast Florida. The organization continues to fulfill its mission to build a healthier community by empowering young people and families to rise above adversity, offering programs that address crisis care, mental health, family counseling, transitional living, and more. The MILLS program is made possible through the generous support of community partners, donors, and advocates who share YCC’s vision for creating opportunities for young women and their children to thrive. Guests attending the ribbon cutting are encouraged to bring diapers and wipes to help stock The Mills’ community supply closet for incoming residents.
