Former Procter & Gamble CEO AG Lafley to speak at Scenic Jacksonville's 2023 Great Cities Symposium on October 4th

Renowned business leader was two-time CEO of the global consumer goods company; led transformative citic nonprofits for Cincinnati's downtown and Sarasota's waterfront

Jacksonville, FL (June 13, 2023) – Scenic Jacksonville is pleased to announce that former Procter & Gamble (PG) CEO AG Lafley will be its guest speaker at its fourth annual Great Cities Symposium on Wednesday, October 4th from 5:30 until 8 p.m. at the Garden Club of Jacksonville, 1005 Riverside Avenue. Tickets are $100 per person and available for purchase at www.scenicjax.org.

Lafley is the highly respected and transformational former CEO and Chairman of the global consumer goods company PG, one of the world's most admired and most valuable companies in the world. Serving two terms, he has been honored with some of the highest awards in business, including “CEO of the Year” by Chief Executive Magazine. While in Cincinnati, he also founded and served as Board Chair of Cincinnati Center City Development (3CDC), which partnered with the city of Cincinnati for the redevelopment and renewal of Downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. He then moved to Sarasota and became the founding CEO of The Bay Park Conservancy, which is creating a $200 million-dollar, 50+ acre, beautifully designed and delightfully programmed signature bayfront public park. The park's 10-acre Phase I opened in 2022. He is currently an owner, advisor and board member involved with startups, early-stage businesses, and private equity investments.  

The event’s evening activities will begin with a cocktail social hour from 5:30 – 6:15 p.m. featuring beer, wine, a signature cocktail and hors d’oeuvres from Biscottis. The program will be held from 6:15 - 7:30 to include remarks from Lafley, discussion and Q & A. Desserts and cocktails will be served from 7:30 - 8 p.m.

About the Great Cities Symposium

The Great Cities Symposium is an annual civic leadership event hosted by Scenic Jacksonville, launched in 2019 as part of our mission to inform, educate, and facilitate community conversations about how Jacksonville can learn from our peer city’s successes and challenges. It is the primary fundraiser for Scenic Jacksonville to further its advocacy work on the beautification of Jacksonville’s natural and built environment.                     

Prior speakers included former mayors Bob Buckhorn of Tampa (2022), Ron Littlefield of Chattanooga (2021), and Joe Riley of Charleston (2019).
