LS3P Celebrates Senior Housing News “CCRC of the Year” Recognition for Hayes Barton Place

March 17, 2026– Jacksonville, FL

Brief: Award honors excellence in continuing care retirement community design; LS3P provided architecture and interior design.

With a growing focus on senior living design across Northeast Florida, LS3P’s Jacksonville team is celebrating national recognition for Hayes Barton Place, which was named “CCRC of the Year” by Senior Housing News as part of its 2025 Architecture & Design Awards. LS3P served as architect and interior designer for the award-winning continuing care retirement community.

Located in Raleigh, NC, Hayes Barton Place was designed as a walkable, community-connected CCRC that blends local character with modern senior living. Inspired by the surrounding historic neighborhoods, the community features red brick façades, gabled roofs, and light-filled interiors that reflect classic Georgian architecture while supporting contemporary lifestyles.

The project was developed in partnership with Liberty Senior Living following a long-term planning effort focused on delivering high-quality senior living in an established urban setting. Hayes Barton Place received first-place honors in the Best CCRC category for its hospitality-forward approach, wellness-oriented amenities, and adaptability across the continuum of care.

“From our Jacksonville office, we’re seeing strong interest in senior living communities that feel connected to their surroundings,” said Tom Norman, Jacksonville Office Leader at LS3P. “Hayes Barton Place shows how design rooted in local character can create welcoming, adaptable environments that support residents over time.

Design strategies include open layouts, strong indoor-outdoor connections, intuitive wayfinding, and interiors that emphasize natural light and a welcoming, residential feel—elements increasingly shaping senior living communities nationwide.
