Film at WJCT Studios Announces Spring 2026 Schedule

Hollywood classics, independent flicks and documentaries will dazzle audiences while drawing activity into Downtown Jacksonville

April 9, 2026 — Jacksonville, Fla. — WJCT Public Media, the independent, community-owned public media organization serving Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, today released the Film at WJCT Studios spring schedule.

The 2025-2026 season is presented by VyStar Credit Union. The film series presents a variety of movies and programs that captivate the imagination, inspire curiosity about the world and deliver unique entertainment at an approachable price point. The series also embraces NT Live screenings, filmed live stage productions from the National Theatre in London.

The spring schedule includes:

?        National Theatre Live: All My Sons (April 23): Playwright Arthur Miller’s powerful American classic, captured live from the stage of Old Vic Theatre, stars Bryan Cranston (of “Breaking Bad” fame) as Joe Keller — a successful businessman whose wartime decisions return to haunt his family. As long-buried secrets begin to surface, the Keller household is forced to confront difficult questions about responsibility, loyalty, and the true cost of the American Dream.

?        The Paper Bag Plan (May 6): This moving 2025 drama was a favorite on the festival circuit, thanks to an intimate, character-driven plot that explores themes of fathers and sons, identity, resilience and the power of independence.

?        Soundtrack to a Coup d'Etat (May 20): This captivating documentary examines the intersection of jazz, politics and power struggles in the early 1960s, when Louis Armstrong was sent to Congo to deflect attention from the CIA-backed coup. Directed by Johan Grimonprez and nominated for the 2025 Oscar® for “Best Documentary Feature,” this modern examination of historical events has found resonance with audiences around the globe.

?        Singin’ in the Rain (June 10): The beloved 1952 musical comedy has charmed generations of film lovers, thanks to iconic performances by Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds. As Hollywood moves from silent films to “talkies,” a film star faces the prospect of career upheaval — and finds romance in the most unexpected of places.

?        Dark Passage (June 16): 1947, film noir/thriller): This film noir classic tells the tale of a wrongfully convicted murderer fleeing the law, and a chance encounter with a woman who helps him hide — only to become entangled in a series of events that call his innocence into question. Starring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, the film makes creative use of first-person camera work to keep audiences close to the action.

Now in its third year, Film at WJCT Studios has grown into a cultural staple in Downtown Jacksonville’s Sports and Entertainment District. Film screenings draw an average of 150+ attendees, with sellout crowds for recent screenings of No Sleep Til, You Got Gold: A Celebration of John Prine and the 2026 Oscar® Shorts.

“Film at WJCT Studios offers a refreshing alternative to the at-home streaming and big-box moviegoing experiences. Whether you’re watching a film for the first time or resisting the urge to recite every line, there is power in experiencing powerful storytelling in a community setting. We’ve captured the magic of going to the movies, while giving our attendees an opportunity to support our mission at the same time,” said Circe LeNoble, Director, Grant Management & Community Events, WJCT Public Media.

All movies start at 7 p.m. Tickets for a current WJCT member (supporter at $60 or more per year) are $5 per film and $10 per NT Live screening. Non-member prices are $10 per film and $15 per NT Live screening. All film events have a cash bar available for popcorn, snacks and beverages, and are screened at WJCT Public Media’s studios, located at 100 Festival Park Avenue in Downtown Jacksonville, Fla.

Additional titles will be added throughout the year. The Film at WJCT Studios series encourages the community to submit titles for consideration a wjct.org/film.
