JEA Chief Electric Systems Officer Ricky Erixton was elected vice president of the Florida Municipal Electric Association (FMEA) board of directors. The board voted on its slate of directors at its annual conference in Palm Beach today.
“I am honored by the confidence my colleagues have placed in me to serve in this leadership role,” Erixton said. “I look forward to working with my fellow officers and board members to build on the association's strong foundation, advance our shared priorities and continue delivering value to the members and communities we serve.”
Erixton has worked at JEA in multiple leadership roles for 35 years. He began his career as a co-op at JEA in 1989 and joined the utility in a permanent role two years later. Erixton was named chief electric systems officer in January 2025. He earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Florida and holds a NERC System Operator Certification.

FMEA is the statewide trade association representing Florida’s public power utilities. The association actively represents and advocates for member cities’ interests on a wide variety of state and federal issues, provides emergency response and mutual aid coordination, provides education and training for members and serves as a clearinghouse for industry news and information.
