To reward teachers and staff for a successful first week of school, the JAX Chamber Arlington Council Education Committee delivered Doughnut Shoppe Donuts to teachers at its six DCPS partner schools in Arlington: Ft. Caroline Elementary; Parkwood Heights Elementary; Arlington Heights Elementary; Arlington Middle; Terry Parker High School, and an exciting new addition to the group, Ft. Caroline Middle School of the Arts.
“Supporting our Arlington public schools is a long-standing tradition of the JAX Chamber Arlington Council and we are excited to welcome Ft. Caroline Middle School of the Arts as our newest partner school,” said Brandon Mack, Arlington Council Board member and Education Committee Chair. “We look forward to working with Principal Wellington and his entire team.”
In addition to delivering treats throughout the year, the Council hosts an annual Teacher Appreciation Breakfast each spring to recognize the schools’ Teachers of the Year. The honorees are showered with gifts and gift cards provided by council members and sponsors. In addition, the Council hosts its annual holiday breakfast at Terry Parker High School which is prepared and served by the school’s culinary students. Lastly, each partner school is awarded $500 annually toward a celebration or recognition program for students and/or staff.
