VyStar Opens Volunteer Resource Center at Feeding Northeast Florida to Mark National Day of Service and Remembrance

New center expands year-round volunteer engagement as VyStar employees and community partners honor September 11 through service supporting local hunger-relief efforts

JACKSONVILLE, FL - VyStar Credit Union honored the 25th anniversary of September 11 and the National Day of Service and Remembrance today by opening the new VyStar Volunteer Resource Center at Feeding Northeast Florida and binging employees, community leaders and corporate partners together for a day of service supporting local hunger-relief efforts.  The event also included a City of Jacksonville proclamation recognizing Good is everywhere Week.

The Day of Service kicked off VyStar's annual Good is everywhere celebration, a signature initiative that connects employees, members and community partners through volunteerism, community engagement and unique experiences across Florida and Georgia. Now in its fifth year, Good is everywhere reflecting VyStar's belief that strong communities are built through consistent action, meaningful partnerships and a shared commitment to helping others.

During the event, VyStar employees volunteered alongside community partners from FIS, One Call, Regency Centers and Mayo Clinic to sort and pack food for individuals and families facing food insecurity, supporting Feeding Northeast Florida's mission to alleviate hunger across the region.

The ribbon cutting for the newly named VyStar Volunteer Resource Center connected the day's service activities to the enduring spirit behind the National Day of Service and Remembrance, which encourages Americans to honor those impacted by the events of September 11 through service to others. Through Good is everywhere, VyStar employees and members continue that tradition by supporting nonprofit organizations and causes that strengthen local communities

“As we celebrate Good is everywhere, we are reminded that the most meaningful impact happens when people come together in service of others,” said VyStar SVP/Foundation President Patricia McElroy. “Today's opening of the VyStar Volunteer Resource Center creates a lasting opportunity for volunteers to support Feeding Northeast Florida's important work and reflects our ongoing commitment to helping our communities thrive.”

The VyStar Volunteer Resource Center at Feeding Northeast Florida will expand volunteer engagement opportunities and strengthen community impact year-round. The dedicated space will support volunteers and help Feeding Northeast Florida serve individuals and families throughout the region.

“Volunteers are essential to our mission,” said Susan King, Feeding Northeast Florida President/CEO. “The VyStar Volunteer Resource Center will enhance the volunteer experience and help us welcome even more individuals and organizations who want to make a difference in the fight against hunger.”
