JACKSONVILLE, Fla., July 6th, 2023 – kasper architects + associates, a Southeast United States regional architecture and interior design firm, released today the final renderings for the new Women’s Care Florida medical office building at 1232 King Street in Riverside.
This project consists of a full interior renovation as well as an exterior facade renovation of a 25,000 square foot two-story building. Originally constructed in 1922, this historic property has been renovated, expanded, and repositioned multiple times throughout the decades. We were challenged with navigating historic preservation while creating a modern plan that would respect the past yet provide a fresh design appropriate for modern health care.
The scheme of contrasting paint colors and minimal exterior embellishments provide a refreshing new look on what was previously a very mundane street scape. Its most notable addition is a corner icon at the main entrance of the site, which serves to bridge the existing single and double height volumes that face King Street.
The interior renovation was a full gut and reimagining of the existing bank space into a new medical office building for Women’s Care Florida consisting of 30 exam rooms, X-Ray (rad rooms), labs, large waiting area, and staff offices and break areas. The design leverages creative solutions to solve the challenges presented by the limitations of the existing space. Ensuring all programmatic needs are met as well as providing a welcoming environment. All while bringing the space up to modern day fire and building code.
The end result is a fresh modern exterior, and an interior design that is welcoming and efficient.
