“Why I Love Grandpa” has recently been accepted by local favorite, The Twig Book Shop, located in the historic, The Pearl District, in San Antonio, Texas.
Jacksonville, FL – 7/17/2023 Local author and educator, PeTika Tave, has expanded the availability of her book “Why I Love Grandpa,” to an independent store in Texas, due to her family’s Texas roots.
Tave was given the opportunity to have her books placed in the Twig Book Shop due to her dad, John Tave (1941 – 2021), who the book was based on, being born and raised in the state where everything is bigger.
The Twig Book Shop began its evolution in San Antonio in 1972. Currently located at the former Pearl Brewery on the Museum Reach of the Riverwalk, The Twig provides newly released books for children and adults as well as award-winning classics. The space at Pearl has become a venue for local and national poets and authors. The Twig makes books available for book clubs, schools, and conferences. Positive Impact
The expansion of her book that celebrates the intergenerational bonds between grandparents and their grandchildren is a testament to the message and purpose behind it. She wrote the book to celebrate all the grandpas that are doing great things for their families. She often jokes that the book is “grandma-approved” as well. You can find Tave around town at local markets and events spreading the positive messages of her books, online, in person, and now in Texas.
