“Beautiful As You Are” and “Brilliant As You Are,” both affirmation books for children, were read and donated to patients during the event.
Jacksonville, FL – 3/2/2023 Local author and educator, PeTika Tave, had the pleasure of reading her books that teach children to love themselves, just the way they are, on February 14, 2023, to patients at Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
Tave was afforded the opportunity through the Baptist Health Supplier Diversity Program to share the much-needed message of her books to the children. Her books have a positive message that encourages children to celebrate their individuality and to love themselves unconditionally. It’s a message that both adults and children have come to cherish from the powerful picture books.
Positive Impact
Through a donation drive held by her company, BayaBooks and More, Tave was able to gather community support and donate 30 books along with 2 affirmation posters to patients. Following the author reading, Tave received feedback such as “PeTika is an engaging author with a bubbly and upbeat personality. She encourages audience participation while reading and leaves the audience feeling rejuvenated on self-love,” (from Brooke, WCH event coordinator) and “He really enjoyed listening to and watching PeTika read. He was so excited to get a book of his own afterwards” (Parent of a 9-year-old patient). It was a great event that benefitted all involved.
