Timucuan Parks Foundation Invites the Community to “Landscapes and Lager” with award-winning photographer Tom Schifanella at Ink Factory Brewing

Jacksonville, Fla., July 20, 2023 – Timucuan Parks Foundation invites the community to join them at Ink Factory Brewing on Wednesday, July 26, for “Landscapes and Lager” featuring photographer Tom Schifanella and the new Timucuan Trails lager, a brew created to support the nonprofit. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the brewery located at 602 Shetter Ave. in Jacksonville Beach and is designed to introduce park lovers, especially young professionals, to the wilderness parks.

Patrons can enjoy a Timucuan Trails lager while they discover Jacksonville’s wilderness parks and preserves through the amazing drone photography of Schifanella who will share the inspiration and techniques he uses to capture Northeast Florida’s natural wonders. Schifanella, an award-winning advertising agency creative, captures images of nature through both still photography and drone footage. His photography has been featured in exhibitions and publications, including Southern Living and Arbus magazines and National Geographic’s Planet or Plastic?, an international photography exhibition devoted to raising awareness of the global crisis in plastic waste. He is also the author of “Sacred Waters: A Paddling Guide to Twelve of Florida’s Wildest Waterways”.

The Timucuan Trails lager is a collaboration between Timucuan Parks Foundation and Ink Factory Brewing to help raise awareness and support for TPF’s programming, promotion, and stewardship efforts in Jacksonville’s national, state, and city preservation parks, as well as serve as outreach for TPF’s budding young professional’s group. The nonprofit will receive 10% of the proceeds from each batch of the brew, which is a dry-hopped lager made with American pilsner malt, layered with mosaic, mosaic incognito and mosaic cryo. The money raised by the sale of the beer will go directly to supporting TPF’s mission and vision to preserve, promote and enhance Jacksonville’s natural areas through community engagement, education, and enjoyment.

Ink Factory Brewing is a microbrewery, taproom, espresso bar and co-work space. It opened its doors in 2021 in the historic district of Jacksonville Beach inside a former magazine publishing warehouse. For more information, visit inkfactorybrewing.com/.

About Timucuan Parks Foundation

Timucuan Parks Foundation is a nonprofit organization that preserves, promotes and enhances Jacksonville’s natural areas through community engagement, education and enjoyment. The foundation originated in 1999 with the Preservation Project Jacksonville, Inc. to identify and assist in acquiring the most vulnerable and environmentally sensitive lands in Duval County. The acquisition of lands created the largest urban park system in the United States. TPF works with its park partners, including the National Park Service, Florida State Parks and the City of Jacksonville, and other community partners to promote environmental stewardship, the health benefits of the parks and preserves, and an appreciation for Jacksonville’s special outdoor spaces.
