LifeSouth Community Blood Centers and Boy Scouts of America, North Florida Council Team Up to Hold Blood Drive August 18

The partnership comes as a result of LifeSouth’s Youth Grant Program

WHAT:

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers and the Boy Scouts of America, North Florida Council are teaming up to hold a blood drive this Friday, August 18.

The partnership comes as a result of LifeSouth’s Youth Grant Program, which serves to support non-profit youth organizations in the community that host blood drives and recruit blood donors. The program also aims to help educate youth about the importance of blood donation and provide lifesaving blood components to patients in the community.

According to America’s Blood Centers, there is only a 1 to 2-day supply of blood in the state of Florida – to meet normal demand of hospitals, blood centers need a 3 to 4-day supply. LifeSouth donors can make all the difference and save up to three lives by donating blood, with those donations staying local in the community.

For more information and to make an appointment, visit https://donors.lifesouth.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/805538. All donors will receive a $20 e-gift card and t-shirt. The blood drive is tropical-themed, so all are encouraged to wear their most colorful and floral attire.

WHEN:

Friday, August 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
