Jacksonville, FL – September 5, 2023 – The Literary Lounge, a captivating haven for booklovers and a vibrant addition to the Jacksonville community, is thrilled to announce its upcoming grand opening on September 29, 2023. Located at 1080 Edgewood Avenue South, Suite 5, in the delightful Murray Hill neighborhood, The Literary Lounge invites book enthusiasts of all ages to celebrate its debut.
The grand opening festivities will commence with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 AM, followed by the official opening of the doors at 11:00 AM. Families with young readers or pre-readers can look forward to story time at 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Throughout the day, giveaways, puzzles, and an open invitation to the Scrabble board promise to keep patrons engaged between perusals of the shelves.
Avid readers Shelby Giltz and Terri Reynolds began to develop the concept of The Literary Lounge during the uncertain days of the pandemic, when books, puzzles, and table-based games helped preserve family sanity. A brief run as festival book vendors gradually turned into a desire to have a brick-and-mortar location where community events would be as important as retail. The resulting family-run, independent bookstore will offer a carefully curated selection of new books, unique gifts, quick prepackaged snacks and drinks, and an inviting ambiance that will make visitors feel right at home.
The Literary Lounge is designed to be a community hub, fostering a sense of togetherness and shared appreciation for the written word. The vision for The Literary Lounge is to provide a welcoming space where locals can immerse themselves in captivating narratives, discover new authors, and engage in book-themed events and discussions.
