MUSIC – Is it the original or an imitator and are they as good, or even better, than the original?
Hello to all my music lovers. The Artist Series shows almost all have music of some sort, it’s part of the entertainment package. I have picked out all the shows we have scheduled at this point, that have music as the main attraction. Some are tributes, some tell stories and some are the original artist performing for us.
Tributes to performers, some still alive and well and some passed on to the big stage in the sky, are loved by people wanting to hear the music performed live, even if not by the original performers. Some tribute bands have been performing the original band’s music for more years and performances than the actual band. Evidenced by the number of shows performed each year and the numbers of people attending, tribute shows are more popular than ever.
We have a list of various musical performances the Artist Series is bringing to Jacksonville this year. Take a look and let me know if you would like to discuss the Tribute Phenomenon. I can set up interviews with many of these artists by Zoom or in person if they are going to be in town prior to the show. In some cases, we can set up promotions if you are interested.

10/17 Eaglemania – Number 1 Eagles tribute concert band.
11/4 The Doo Wop Project – Broadway performers from JERSEY BOYS, A BRONX TALE, BEAUTIFUL, and MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL perform for this show.
11/21 Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis - The #1 Christmas music artist in history celebrating over 35 years of holiday magic.
11/28 Johnny Cash - The Official Johnny Cash Experience - Video from episodes of The Johnny Cash TV Show projected on a screen above the stage with a live band and singers to accompany Johnny performing in perfect sync. There are also interviews with his son and others.
12/8 SARAH BRIGHTMAN - A Christmas Symphony – Jacksonville is fortunate to have the
top female soprano singer in the World grace our stage.
12/9 ON YOUR FEET THE MUSICAL – The story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan This full-scale Broadway musical tells the story of how Emilio and Gloria Estafan became an international sensation.
1/9/24 The Cher Show, A New Musical – This full-scale Broadway musical tells about the life of Cher spanning so many decades it had to have three different woman play Cher.
1/12/24 Direct from Sweden, The Music of ABBA Our favorite ABBA tribute returns for
another fun, dancing in the isles, show.
2/4/24 THE BARBER OF SEVILLE - Rossini’s Opera THE BARBER OF SEVILLE (BARBIERE DI
SIVIGLIA) is considered to be the finest comic opera in existence!
2/6-11/24 HADESTOWN - A Broadway musical with 8 shows in Jax, Hadestown is the winner of the
2020 Grammy® Award for Best Musical Theater Album, this is an acclaimed new show

2/13/24 David Foster & Katharine McPhee - 16-time Grammy award-winning musician,

2/15/24 Stayin’ Alive, One Night of the Bee Gees – Return of this favorite Bee Gees tribute

packed with breath-taking harmonies and instrumental virtuosity.
3/5-10/24 Tina – The Tina Turner Musical A Broadway musical with 8 shows in Jax, is the
triumphant story of the Queen of Rock n' Roll set to the pulse-pounding soundtrack of
her most beloved hits!
4/2-7/24 SIX - A Broadway musical with 8 shows in Jax, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the microphone to remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a Euphoric Celebration of 21st century girl power! SIX has won the Tony Award® for Best Original Score (Music and Lyrics) and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical.
4/24 – 5/4/24 FROZEN – A Broadway musical with 14 shows in Jax features the songs you know and
love from the original film, plus an expanded score with 12 new numbers written just for
the stage by the film’s songwriters, Oscar winner Kristen Anderson-Lopez and EGOT winner Robert Lopez. What more can I say? LET IT GO, LET IT GO …
