Honoring the tradition of oral storytelling in a modern context, Untold Stories showcases six local storytellers in quarterly thematic story evenings featuring personal and transformative tales deeply wedded to the place we inhabit told by a diverse range of voices, both natives and residents of Northeast Florida.

A casting call went out on September 1, 2023.  North Florida residents can still apply to become a cast member of Untold Stories. More information can be found here.

Untold Stories is a project of the nonprofit Florida Theatre.  The 2023-2024 season of Untold Stories is curated by Artistic Director Barbara Colaciello of BABS’LAB. Read Barbara’s bio here.

“Untold Stories is not an open mic night.  It is a professionally curated evening of storytellers whose work has been thematically organized to make a compelling and entertaining evening.  That said, everyone is local, and all the storytellers come from different backgrounds and experiences.  They’re you and me,” said Numa Saisselin, President of the Florida Theatre.

“These evenings are not merely a collection of individual stories but rather a cohesive whole, akin to a series of mini-plays, taking the audience on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, from laughter to tears, from introspection to inspiration.  Something new this season is that our musical guests will create a soundscape throughout, intertwining the magic of music with the power of storytelling,” said Barbara Colaciello, Artistic Director of BABS’LAB.
