Credit Union expands with 20th Branch Location
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., October 31, 2023 – Community First Credit Union, one of Florida’s largest credit unions serving anyone who lives or works on the First Coast, has officially opened its new Northpoint Village branch at the intersection of Yellow Bluff and New Berlin Roads. The new branch at Northpoint Village adjacent to Publix. The credit union will celebrate the opening from Oct. 30 through Nov. 4 with ticket giveaways, new checking account bonuses and
special offers.
Community First’s new, freestanding branch features a drive-thru and full-service lobby. The institution’s 20th branch location features Community First’s modern branch design with 3,300 square feet, an open floorplan, upgraded digital technologies and a historical mural depicting the history of Cedar Point and North Jacksonville. The new branch serves to fill a gap in the availability of ATMs and financial institutions in this growing area.
“Our northernmost branch in Duval County will serve this bustling and growing area of town,” said John Hirabayashi, CEO and president of Community First. “Our members in North Jacksonville drove the need for a new full-service branch in the area and this location further complements our branch network.”
Community First purchased the 1.04-acre lot in July 2022 and launched construction in February of 2023. TTV Architects designed the branch, and it was built by Auld & White Constructors.
The new branch location is part of the credit union’s Branch Transformation Project, the credit union’s comprehensive branch upgrade which improves member service by configuring the spaces to create a more modern retail experience.
Community First is undertaking its largest one-time investment in its branch network with three expansion branches in the works or newly opened in 2023. The credit union’s 21st branch is under construction at Boulevard Crossing and expected to open in early 2024. Community First recently started construction on Branch 22 located in Murabella, St. Johns. On October 26, the credit union announced it purchased a site at Southside Quarter and will soon begin construction on a new Baymeadows/Gate Parkway location to replace its existing branch location on Baymeadows Rd. at Point Meadows Way in 2024.
