Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens Announces a Joyful Holiday Season of Events and Promotions

Museum to offer unique gifts and inspiring experiences for all to enjoy

 

JACKSONVILLE, Florida — Nov. 20, 2023 — The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens invites the community to celebrate the holiday season through an array of special events and unique promotions. 

 

“The holidays are a wonderful opportunity to gather with family and friends, and we welcome all to the Museum in celebration of the season,” said Dr. Andrea Barnwell Brownlee, the George W. and Kathleen I. Gibbs Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Museum. “As a hub of creativity and community, we are offering a variety of events for all ages to enjoy together and enliven the Museum during this festive time of year.” 

 

Beginning on Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., the Cummer Shop at the Cummer Museum invites shoppers to participate in Museum Store Sunday, an annual holiday shopping day supporting cultural institutions and their stores. This year, more than 2,200 museum stores representing all 50 states and the District of Columbia, 25 countries and five continents will celebrate Museum Store Sunday and offer unique gifts for the holiday season—with all purchases supporting its parent institution and the artisans and craftspeople who create many of the gifts found in museum stores.

 

The Cummer Shop is the perfect place to find unique and one-of-a kind gifts like artisan jewelry, wearable art, special items that reflect the collections, and much more. All shoppers will receive a 25 percent discount on every Museum Store Sunday purchase plus a 10 percent discount in the Cummer Café. Enjoy a free Museum Highlights Tour as part of the Museum Store Sunday experience.

  • Champagne & Shopping (Nov. 30 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Dec. 1 from
  •  11 a.m. to 9 p.m.): Shop, sip and support at the Cummer’s signature holiday event.
  •  Shoppers ages 21+ may enjoy complimentary Champagne while shopping exclusive offers and trunk shows. Visitors will receive a 20 percent discount on purchases. This event is open to all shoppers, independent of Museum admission.

  • Papercutting with Artist Hiromi Moneyhun: Holiday Decorations Papercut
  •  (Dec. 14 and 17 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.):
  • Papercut artworks make great gifts. Join renowned papercut artist Hiromi Moneyhun as she
  •  shares techniques to create your own unique papercut. During each one-day workshop, participants will create papercut artwork to take home. Prices are $50 for members and $75 for non-members.

Support from the community is critical for the Museum to serve as a vibrant civic resource. All proceeds from daily admission, Cummer Shop sales, event registrations and the Cummer Café support the Museum’s mission to engage and inspire through the arts, gardens and education.
