"Plan Your Year with Parks" Timucuan Parks Foundation Young Professionals Pop-Up Event at Ink Factory Brewing, January 18

Join friends of Jacksonville’s natural areas for a specialty beer drop, food from Hard Pressed, art by Kathy Stark, and more

Jacksonville, Fla., Jan. 11, 2024 – Join the Timucuan Parks Foundation (TPF) Young Professionals Group at the upcoming “Plan Your Year with Parks” social event hosted at Ink Factory Brewing at 602 Shetter Ave. in Jacksonville Beach on January 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Featuring a specialty lager, food, and art, the gathering aims to raise awareness of the nonprofit’s mission of preserving, promoting, and enhancing Jacksonville’s natural areas as well as expand opportunities for young professionals by kicking off a year full of engaging group activities.

This event is open to all young, talented and energetic individuals interested in networking and becoming part of a community passionate about learning, preserving, and enjoying the wilderness parks and preserves of the Greater Jacksonville Area.

“As we embark on the new year, we want to inspire everyone to incorporate the beauty and physical and mental health benefits of nature into their lives and make the most of our incredible parks throughout the seasons,” said TPF Program and Outreach Director Felicia Boyd.

In collaboration with Ink Factory Brewing, TPF is proud to unveil their specially crafted lager exclusively for this event. The launch of the second batch of Timucuan Trails Lager also serves a greater purpose as a portion of the sales from the specialty beer will be donated to TPF for their volunteer efforts in Jacksonville’s parks and preserves.

"We are excited to re-brew one of our favorite dry-hopped lagers in collaboration with Timucuan Parks Foundation,” said Ink Factory Brewing Brewmaster Tye Wallace. “Come enjoy this tasty brew and help raise some funds to keep our outdoor parks AWESOME. Cheers!"

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in interactive sessions designed to help plan exciting park visits throughout the year. From biking adventures to shoreline cleanups to “Hikes into History,” the "Plan Your Year with Parks" event will provide the tools and tips for anyone to add outdoor recreational, social, and community service experiences to their new year goals.

"We believe in the power of nature to inspire and connect us,” said TPF YP coordinator Devon Bistarkey. “Join us as we come together to celebrate the resources of our local national, state, and city preservation parks and kick off a year filled with adventure and purpose.”

The 2024 kick-off event is the opportunity for young professionals to connect with fellow nature enthusiasts, learn about the incredible work the TPF organization does, and set the stage for an unforgettable year of outdoor exploration. About Timucuan Parks Foundation

Timucuan Parks Foundation is a nonprofit organization that preserves, promotes and enhances Jacksonville’s natural areas through community engagement, education and enjoyment. The foundation originated in 1999 with the Preservation Project Jacksonville, Inc. to identify and assist in acquiring the most vulnerable and environmentally sensitive lands in Duval County. The acquisition of lands created the largest urban park system in the United States. TPF works with its park partners, including the National Park Service, Florida State Parks and the City of Jacksonville, and other community partners to promote environmental stewardship, the health benefits of the parks and preserves, and an appreciation for Jacksonville’s special outdoor spaces.
