Wednesday, February 14, 2024 – Jacksonville, Fla. – Palatka Fire Department and Bradford Country Fire Rescue are now equipped with new lifesaving equipment, thanks to more than $72,000 from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
To honor and celebrate, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation will host two events to recognize the grants on Wednesday, February 14.
The below encapsulates each grant award, including a brief description of equipment use and value.
- Palatka Fire Department received extrication equipment, valued at $39,025. The awarded equipment will allow the department to remove trapped patients following motor vehicle accidents and structural collapses quickly and efficiently.
- Bradford County Fire Rescue received three rams and accessories, valued at $33,855. The awarded equipment will allow the department to push vehicle parts and other obstacles out of the way during vehicle extrication.
WHAT: Two grant award acknowledgement celebrations and official check presentations from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. Interviews with Palatka Fire Department, Bradford County Fire Rescue, Firehouse Subs Director of Company Operations Tim Foster, and Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation Manager of Development and Outreach Nancy Palmer will be available at each event.
