JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (February 21, 2024) — Smith Hulsey & Busey’s mergers & acquisitions practice group concluded a successful year in 2023, closing transactions totaling $587 million in value. The firm represented buyers, sellers and investors in 32 mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and investments and eight financings across a range of industries.

Last year, SHB handled transactions ranging from approximately $175,000 to $135 million on behalf of 28 clients. These transactions, many of them confidential, involved companies in the automotive, education, finance, technology, health care, insurance, manufacturing, and real estate industries, among others.

While 2023 was a slower year for M&A activity nationwide, deals are expected to pick up throughout 2024, according to a recent S&P Global Market Intelligence report.
