Jacksonville –
Yoga 4 Change has received a $14,500 grant award from Mayo Clinic in Florida to serve approximately 700 individuals through 24 successful partnerships with other nonprofits and health-focused facilities to provide health and wellness resources to underserved populations in Northeast Florida. Participants, on average, will self-report a significant decrease in stress levels and physical pain and an increase in mood.
All classes will be free to the public and will be featured monthly. Participants are encouraged to follow Yoga 4 Change on social media for updates or check out their website. Two upcoming classes are being held on April 20 at 8am in partnership with Beaches Go Green, one in Atlantic Beach and one in Jacksonville Beach. Sessions will start with a yoga class and be followed by beach clean-up.
Mayo Clinic in Florida is committed to supporting the health of the community by investing in programs and initiatives designed to improve the well-being of local and regional residents.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Mayo Clinic to bring free yoga to Jacksonville,” says Kim Simon, Program Director at Yoga 4 Change. “This is an exciting opportunity for Yoga 4 Change to partner with other nonprofits and wellness facilities to bring the benefits of yoga to all! We are so grateful for the generosity and support of Mayo Clinic.”
