Springfield Preservation and Revitalization Council (SPAR) Announces the Return of UF Health Week in Springfield

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 2, 2023) –  Springfield Preservation and Revitalization, or SPAR, is excited to announce that Historic Springfield will be honoring the employees of UF Health Jacksonville during the annual Hospital Week celebration May 7-13. During this week, Historic Springfield businesses will be offering specials and incentives to employees of UF Health Jacksonville. This win-win collaboration will acknowledge the benefit of UF Health Jacksonville employees while also introducing them to their neighbor in the Springfield Historic District.  This is the third year for this collaboration.

To show appreciation for UF Health Jacksonville’s role in the community, 13 local businesses have partnered with SPAR to offer discounts and incentives to UF Health employees. This is a prime example of the unique opportunities that SPAR looks for to promote Historic Springfield’s commercial corridors. Local business owners feel that UF Health employees who experience the personality of the neighborhood will become regular customers. Seeing more UF Health badges on Main Street and throughout the neighborhood will become an everyday experience.

Historic Springfield businesses participating include: 1 Foxy Lady Cafe, 1748 Bakehouse, Bold City Yoga, Dreamette Ice Cream, Farmery Bakery & Bodega, Historically Hoppy, Hyperion Brewing Company, Main Street Food Park, Reddi-Arts, Social Grounds Coffee, Springfield Preservation and Revitalization, Springfield Scoops, Stumpy’s Hatchet House, and Wafaa N Mike's Cafe.

“We’re excited to show our appreciation for our healthcare workers,” Michael Haskins, SPAR Executive Director, said. “We love partnering with UF Health Jacksonville and welcoming new visitors to our neighborhood. We hope UF Health employees enjoy the chance to visit our community and we are grateful for the opportunity to honor them.”

In turn, UF Health Jacksonville employees will be serving as volunteers during the upcoming 44th Annual Tour of Homes & Gardens in the Springfield Historic District on May 13 & 14.
