FOURTH OF JULY THROWBACK BASEBALL GAME PRESENTED BY M&M HOMES

JACKSONVILLE, FL, July 1, 2024 - The Fourth of July Throwback Baseball Game Presented by M&M Homes returns to Historic Springfield on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at Klutho Park (204 W 3rd Street). Pre-game festivities begin at 10 AM and first pitch begins at 11 AM. The event is free and family-friendly.

 

Watch the Eastside Reds versus the Westside Giants with players in authentic, turn-of-the-century uniforms and equipment complete with an organist and live announcer. This annual tradition celebrates the Fourth of July and Springfield Preservation and Revitalization’s mission to preserve the historic character of the Springfield community.

 

The event is free and family-friendly. Dogs on leashes are welcome. Limited bleacher seating is available and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, tents, and picnic supplies. Hot Box Pretzels, Icebusters Ice Cream, and Windy City Eats will provide food and beverages for purchase. Restrooms with running water are available as well.

 

Pre-game festivities begin at 10 AM and  include:

 

  • Catch in the outfield, running the bases, and a parade for children
  • Senator Tracie Davis will throw the ceremonial first pitch
  • Ebb Tides Barbershop Quartet sings the national anthem

 

Game begins at 11 AM. After party to celebrate the winners at Strings Sports Brewery with $1 wings and $1 off beer.
