BRIGHT EYES TO ILLUMINATE THE FLORIDA THEATRE WITH AN UNFORGETTABLE PERFORMANCE ON MARCH 3, 2025

JACKSONVILLE, FL (August 6, 2024) –– The Florida Theatre and AEG are proud to announce Bright Eyes on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. at the historic Florida Theatre in downtown Jacksonville.  Tickets go on sale Friday, August 9, 2024, at 10 a.m.  Buy them at www.floridatheatre.com or the Florida Theatre Box Office at (904) 355-2787.

The Florida Theatre is thrilled that acclaimed indie-rock band Bright Eyes will be gracing its historic stage on March 3rd.  Known for their introspective lyrics and dynamic sound, Bright Eyes promises an evening of captivating music and emotional resonance.

Bright Eyes, led by the visionary Conor Oberst, has been a defining force in the indie music scene since its debut.  Their unique blend of folk, rock, and experimental sounds, coupled with Oberst's poignant and poetic lyrics, has earned them a devoted following and critical acclaim.  The band’s live performances are renowned for their intensity and intimacy, making this a must-see event for fans and newcomers alike.

Bright Eyes began in 1995 in an Omaha basement as a recording moniker for a then 15-year-old Conor Oberst’s work with producer/multi-instrumentalist Mike Mogis.  Mogis and composer/arranger/multi-instrumentalist Nate Walcott became fully-fledged members in 2006.

Over the last two-plus decades, as Bright Eyes has released one after another time capsule LPs—urgent dispatches from transcendent, fleeting eras of our collective lives—they’ve also simultaneously been assembling a robust, mature, narratively cohesive discography, currently receiving the reissue treatment via Dead Oceans.  Some of the band's biggest hits include: “First Day of My Life,” “Lua,” “At the Bottom of Everything,” and “We Are Nowhere and It’s Now.”

Over the course of 29 years, Bright Eyes’ impact and influence have been significant throughout pop culture, appearing in countless films and television shows.  Their songs have been covered by dozens of artists including Lorde, The Killers, Mac Miller, Phoebe Bridgers, Jason Mraz, and beabadoobee, and sampled by rappers like Young Thug and Lil Peep.  For a band that’s often been perceived as an outlier, the depth, breadth, and impact of the Bright Eyes canon is remarkable.

The band’s forthcoming album, Five Dice, All Threes, will be available this September on Dead Oceans.  Five Dice, All Threes is a record of uncommon intensity and tenderness, communal exorcism, and personal excavation.  Oberst has always sung in a voice that conveys a sense of life-or-death gravity.

“For whatever reason, I was born with a brain that's preoccupied with that kind of thing,” Oberst says of his lifelong penchant for dark subject matter.  “When I was young, there was a performative aspect to it, which got reflected back at me.  Now I’m at a point where I don’t care what the reaction is going to be.  Before it was a little out of my hands—I didn’t know how to write if it wasn’t specific to my actual life.  Now I do it by choice.”

Tickets for Bright Eyes at the Florida Theatre will go on sale on August 9th at 10 a.m.  Fans are encouraged to secure their seats early, as this show is expected to sell out quickly.  Tickets can be purchased through the Florida Theatre’s official website (www.floridatheatre.com) or Box Office (904-355-2787).

Join us for an unforgettable night with Bright Eyes, and experience their sound at the Florida Theatre.
