Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida Expands to Serve Youth in Nassau

Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida Welcomes Nassau County Clubs into its Family

Jacksonville, FL – August 1, 2024 – Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida is proud to announce a partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs in Nassau County. This collaboration brings two new Clubs to our Northeast Florida family: the Miller Freedom Center and the Roberts Learning & Achievement Center. The partnership unites two historic Florida Boys & Girls Club charters and expands the range of services available to children throughout the Northeast region.

Through new grants, both Nassau County Clubs will offer free access for youth, providing increased sustainability, organizational structure, support, and access to new state-of-the-art STEM labs, gymnasium remodels, and new teen facilities. These enhancements will help prioritize the mission of increasing both Clubs’ daily attendance by 2025.

“Our mission is to keep kids safe and off the streets by having them join their local Boys & Girls Club. This is the driving reason behind joining forces with Nassau County – to provide children with additional opportunities to have fun, learn, and enjoy a warm meal under the trained eye of Boys & Girls Club staff,” said Paul Martinez, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida.

“The partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida creates new ways for our Boys & Girls Clubs to empower more youth in Nassau County. We’re looking forward to working together to build great futures for our young people,” said Ronald Blum, President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County Foundation Board.

For over 60 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida has enabled young people to achieve great futures as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Our 59 Clubs serve more than 5500 young people each day in Alachua, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties.

Our Boys & Girls Clubs provide a safe place, caring adult mentors, fun and friendship, and high-impact youth development programs during critical non-school hours and during the summer.

Club programs promote five core areas: character and leadership, education and workforce readiness, the arts, health and wellness, and sports and recreation. In a Harris Survey of Boys & Girls Clubs alumni, 57 percent said the Club saved their lives. Learn more at bgcnf.org
